Yes, I know the name is stupid.

But there is more to “Teen Wolf” than the second-hand ‘80’s title. At its core, the show is about identity, transformation and sacrifice—plus teenage werewolves.

“Teen Wolf” has come a long way since its first season when all high school werewolf, Scott McCall (Tyler Posey), wanted to do was play lacrosse without growing claws.

At the start of the second half of season three, which aired on MTV on  Jan. 6, the protagonists suffered from violent hallucinations. I am excited to see how this plays out, as well as how far these delusions will push the characters. So far, the season seems to venture into darker territories than the show has visited before, and I cannot wait to see what is hiding in the shadows.

But the best part about “Teen Wolf” is that it is fun. It has everything from howling hotties to witty writing and a huge fan following to show for it, mostly made of teenage girls. But do not be fooled into thinking this is the only demographic to which the show appeals. Adolescent girls are the only ones brave enough to watch a program with such a silly name as “Teen Wolf,” and I dare everyone else to be that courageous. You will not regret it.

Although the title and premise make it sound like “Twilight” without vampires, “Teen Wolf” is much more than that. With its lovable characters, supernatural drama and fun spirit, this show is definitely worth the watch.
