April 13

The Seed Packaging event, where volunteers are scheduled to package seed packs for families’ gardens to send to Zimbabwe, Zambia and Malawi, is planned to take place at the Christian Heritage Academy from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The event is sponsored by the Willow Creek Community Church North Shore. High school volunteers do not need to sign up in advance and do not need to be members of the Church.

April 16

The French National Honor Society induction ceremony is scheduled to take place at 6 p.m. in the Glenbrook North library. Attendees should plan on music and refreshments to follow.

April 17 

The summer volunteer informational meeting is scheduled to take place at the Northbrook Public Library at 6:30 p.m. in the Youth Service Activity room. Discussions are planned  to address the responsibilities of being a volunteer at the library and the potential volunteer positions. The meeting is mandatory for all who wish to become a volunteer. High schoolers and current eighth graders are welcome.

April 19

The Bunny Rock half marathon, 5K and egg hunt are scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. at Arvey Field in Grant Park. It is planned to have ‘80s rock music and a petting zoo. Online registration closes on April 18, but there is scheduled to be an opportunity to sign up in person the morning of the race. Online registration can be found at (http://bunnyrock5k.com).

April 21 – 25

The GBN vs. GBS Burger Battle competition is scheduled to be held at Meatheads located in Northbrook between the introductory level business classes from both schools. The students are planning to create their own type of burger and compete against the opposing school to determine which burger yields a larger profit. The school with the winning burger is expected to receive a 10 percent donation of the profits.

April 23 – April 24

The Prairie State Achievement Exam is scheduled  for the junior class. The rest of the student body does not have school. On April 24, a late arrival  starting at 11:40 a.m. is planned for the rest of the student body.

April 30 – May 3

The showings  of the Glenbrook Musical, “Legally Blonde,” are scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. in the CPA. Tickets can be purchased online at the GBN home page at (www.showtix4u.com).
