She has committed to Loyola Marymount University and is expected to swim during her college career. receiving a partial scholarship.

Part of her decision was based on having family that lives near the college, so she is familiar with the area. She also felt comfortable with the team when she visited on a recruitment trip.

“I got to meet the team and the coach and everything and I just love them,” said Horwitz. “They actually remind me a little about GBN’s team. They have really close knit team chemistry and I love it.”

Jon Robin Walker, head girls varsity swim coach, described her as a paradox because of her personality but high intellect as well as her kind nature but competitive drive.

“I know in my career I won’t find another Stephanie,” said Walker. “She is unique and will be missed.”
