Resnick looks to pitch at Bradley

At age seven, starting pitcher Peter Resnick fell in love with the game of baseball. For the past four years, Resnick had been pitching for Glenbrook North and is planning on continuing his athletic career at Bradley University.

“I just didn’t want my career to end,” said Resnick, who has accepted an athletic scholarship to play baseball at Bradley University, located in Peoria and a division one school, during the upcoming school year.

Resnick said he chose to attend Bradley because he liked the small campus and the “competitive baseball feel.”

According to Head Varsity Baseball Coach Dominic Savino, Resnick is mentally and physically prepared to “make the leap” from high school to division one baseball.

“He’s a very advanced as a pitcher,” said Savino. “He has the ability to make good hitters look bad.”

Resnick has pitched three no-hitters in his GBN baseball career. He was also a member of the 2011 sectional championship team.

Resnick said he thinks it is going to be weird getting to know a new coaching staff  and playing nine innings instead of the seven that are played in high school games. However, he said he is looking forward to the better competition and travel he plans to experience at Bradley.

According to Savino, Resnick has great poise on the mound and will have success at it.
