Flashback: senior edition

Seniors take a blast through the past and review trends from 2010-2014

2010-2011

Justin Bieber: Senior Cayla Rabinowitz was “such a big fan” of the teen singer back in 2011. However, now she says her views of the singer have changed and she “strongly dislikes” Bieber.

Fringe Boots: According to senior Christine Orzechowski, fringe boots were the height of freshman fashion during her freshman year. “I had two pairs,” said Orzechowski. “One pair was black, the other tan. Looking back, they weren’t really that cute.”

 

2011-2012

Temple Run: Senior Akash Shah said that during his sophomore year he was “minorly obsessed” with the app Temple Run. According to (Digitaltrend.com) in 2012, Temple Run was downloaded more than 20 million times.

Pencil Skirts: According to senior Alyssa Landauer, pencil skirts were “all the rage.” She said she remembers every time she was assigned to give presentations in class, all of the girls would wear pencil skirts.

 

2012-2013

High-Low Dresses: According to senior Kendra Moore, all of the dances she remembers going to in 2013 were full of girls wearing high-low dresses. She said she also took part in the “widespread” fashion trend.

Harlem Shake: “The Harlem Shake, was in my opinion, the second worst song trend in high school,” senior Adam Weiss said.

 

A Year in Review: 2013-2014

Flappy Bird: According to senior Claire Pugh, the app Flappy Bird has been one of the biggest trends of this past school year. She said that this particular fad went in and out of style rather quickly.

Vineyard Vines: Senior Mark Zemela has been a fan of the clothing brand Vineyard Vines for a while. “I’ve been seeing a lot more Vineyard Vines [items] at GBN, and it’s awesome,” Zemela said.
