  • Starting with the October 2012 exam, students are required to submit a photo of themselves when they register for the ACT, according to ACT (actstudent.org)

  • Last spring semester, GBN and GBS took part in an energy study through Smart Energy Design Assistance Center to find out how the schools could save money and energy. The study found that GBN could improve on 12 items that could save the district $75,000 per year, according to Public  Relations Assistant Jenn Nimke.

  • According to Ryan Bretag, coordinator of instructional technologies, the Fall All-School Workshop for this year is called “Rachel’s Challenge.” The workshop is inspired from the  story of Rachel Scott, who was the first victim in the Columbine High School shooting in 1999. The workshop focuses on the power of kindness, compassion, connections and relationships.

  • Illinois State Senate 9th district candidates Daniel Biss and Glenn Farkas will have a debate at Glenbrook South High School on Sept. 19 at 7 p.m. The debate is open to the general public.
