The Division 1 intramural basketball championship for juniors and seniors is scheduled to take place in the main gym on Feb. 24 at 6:00 p.m.

Intramural basketball is comprised of leagues for freshmen through seniors.

According to sophomore Mark Schueler, intramural basketball provides a competitive environment to showcase athletic ability while being with friends, which creates a memorable experience.

A tryout at the beginning of each season determines which division teams will be placed in. Division 1 for juniors and seniors is composed of the best six teams. Each team has roughly 7 to ten players all competing to win.

Senior Patrick Strickland said winning the championship this year would feel very good, especially since the winning team earns bragging rights.

The winners of each championship for freshmen through senior divisions also get to take home a t-shirt.

Intramural Director Barry Ruppert said alumni return and still reminisce about the glory of winning.
