Junior Hannah Godnik practices singing. Godnik is in Ladies First, Fermata Nowhere and Chorale. This year, she appeared in ten acts in the Variety Show.

Junior Hannah Godnik appeared on an episode of “Chicago Med” on NBC on Jan. 26.

“On Thanksgiving, I got the call that I got the role and it was really exciting,” said Godnik. “It felt amazing because I’ve been dreaming of finally getting a part forever.”

Godnik said she loved the show before she got the part, so it made it even more exciting.

“I was on set, and I got my makeup done next to Torrey Devitto,” said Godnik. “She was on ‘Pretty Little Liars,’ and I was in shock. I was like, ‘Oh my god, I love you. You’re amazing.’”

According to Godnik’s sister, alumna Olivia Godnik (‘14), her talents of acting and singing began a long time ago.

“We all noticed Hannah’s love of music when she was just a baby,” said Olivia Godnik. “By 18 months, my mom noticed she was singing a capella in key.”

Hannah Godnik was one of the eight students chosen to perform in a ten minute medley of songs in the opening ceremony of the 2016 All-State Musical in January.

Andrew Wallace, the director of choir, said he was in awe as he watched the opening ceremony.

“All the kids were great, but Hannah was just workin’ it,” Wallace said.

Hannah Godnik’s acting coach Susan Handelman said she is not only talented, but she has a great work ethic as well.

“She is a hard worker and very dedicated and devoted to what she does,” said Handelman. “I’m not only thrilled to have her as a student, but I’m thrilled to have her as a part of my life.”

Handelman said she sees a bright future for her student.

“[Hannah’s future] will be anything she wants it to be,” said Handelman. “I think she has a professional career ahead of her. She will continue to grow.”

Hannah Godnik said she is also excited for her future in performing.

“I want to do everything,” said Hannah Godnik. “I want to do Broadway, TV, radio. I want to try it all. It would be amazing to be able to act and sing on Broadway and combine both of the two. I love both equally, so musical theater would be cool to do.”
