In the bottom of the seventh inning with the score tied, Smeds hit a ball into the outfield bringing home a teammate to win the game. Ruben, Rosenson, Gruenberg and seniors Kate Kamin and Courtney Chron have played on varsity softball since sophomore year. “A lot of us have played Northbrook softball together [before high school] and that has really helped our group dynamic,” Ruben said. The team is scheduled to play in the Leyden Invite in Rosemont on April 11 and 12, Highland Park on April 16 at Glenbrook North, Deerfield on April 17 in Deerfield and Prospect on April 19 in Mount Prospect.
